Clumber 3rd XI beat experienced Thoresby Colliery 3rd XI

Another great day for the 3rds today picking up maximum 20 points.. Winning the toss I elected to have a bat. Having no umpires their skipper told me about his Dad & how good an umpire he was and that he was so impartial... So in the 3rd over a scene from a western occurred when he triggered his finger quicker than John Wain! We raced along nicely and in the 20th over we were 86 fer 4 but then by the 24th over we were 95 fer 8 with Lily & Evan at the crease who batted 11 overs together in style and ultimately taking the score to 111. Lily last out for a career best 23 in senior cricket with the score on 120 ao.
Our response didn't quite go to plan although we struck early, so in moments of pressure I turned to a 13yo & a 14yo... Evan Bownes 1 fer 5 off 5! Harry Beer 6 fer 32 off 13!!! That's 11 wickets in 2 games, outstanding stuff H!! Debutant Oliver then came on & bowled with brilliant pace 1 fer 7 off 5! 2 experienced cricketers at the crease who had the potential to finish the game so I through the ball to a 12yo Zak Berridge..... 3rd ball game over Thoresby 3rds 94ao
