The 2nd XI cruelly lost to Glapwell in an excellent Div 3 encounter with one over to spare on a day when lady luck was nowhere to be seen. Batting first we made a dominant start though me (30), Roy (39) and Tren (44). However, from 90-1 we somehow slumped to 135-7 before a great rearguard from Horsey (24) and Rich (18) helped us to a decent 189 for 9.
Tea. Adequate.
What can I sat about the reply? I can't fault the bowling from Hayden, Simon, Smithy, Rich and me whatsoever. There were edges, leading edges, play n misses, shots spooned in the air in to gaps. At times it was a joke. One of their guys batted well (with quite a bit of luck) for about 80. We didn't deserve to lose and played a pretty decent game but sadly we lost with one over to go. We've lost a couple of games this season where weve played poorly. This though was a good effort and if we can improve our composure a little bit, we can go from strength to strength.
