Dean Brothers Team Up for 2nd XI in Class Performance

Great result for the 2nd team today in an eventually dominant display against Blyth.

I lost the toss and we were put in to bat. Deano and Bayliss saw us steady away and gave us a lovely little platform to build from, 60 odd for no loss at drinks. Everyone chipped in after Bayliss (32) and Dean (27) fell with Rix, Dean, Perkins and Ward all making 20 odd apiece. Clumber 179-6 off their 46.

In reply Blyth got off to a flyer and were 50 without loss off 6 overs! The lads stuck together, fielded and caught really well, and it was the Dean show with the ball. Simon bowled some lovely away swing and finished with a deserved 6 wickets including a couple of great catches from junior Dean, Oliver. Mark was bowling in tandem at the other end and bowled tightly finishing with 4 wickets of his own. Blyth 89 all out.

Great effort from the lads today, a real team performance with the bat setting us up for a top win and an important 20 points. Onto next week at Wadworth away where we look to keep this gravy train rolling, well done boys, up the Park!
