The 1st XI were well beaten by Killamarsh as our batting once again let us down a little.
On a good looking deck, we batted first but soon slipped to 17-3. Simon Bingham looked good for his 19 and Chris Ward dug in for 57 balls for his 13. I got 15no but wickets fell pretty regularly against a couple of decent spinners as we were all out for just 73.
Although Killamarsh knocked them off for just one wicket (Ben Tomlinson 5 overs, 1-17), Zak Berridge, Jasper Dennison, Ben Tomlinson and Hayden Cox all bowled really well. Good lines, good lengths and with decent consistency. Zak in particular bowled an excellent spell at Adam Burgess. We’re on a bad trot but we need to forget about results and the oppos and just focus on what we can learn from what went wrong, what the oppos did better than us and what we as individuals and as a team can do better. Let’s keep smiling!
