Get Set Weekend – Help Us Get Ready for the 2026 Season

Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th March - from 9am

As the new cricket season approaches, we’ll once again be taking part in the ECB 'Get Set Weekend' — a nationwide initiative that helps clubs prepare their grounds and facilities ahead of the season.

Our Get Set Weekend is a great opportunity for members, players, parents and supporters to come together and give the club a hand. There are plenty of jobs to do around the ground to ensure everything is ready for the start of the season, and many hands make light work.

Whether you can spare an hour or stay for the whole session, your help will be hugely appreciated.

We have a variety of tasks that need completing, including:

  • Sight screens
  • Covers
  • Cutting grass around the pavilion and nets
  • Benches
  • Nets drop
  • Cleaning interiors, including toilets
  • Fence posts (labour required to assist John Shaw and Andy Kendall)
  • Artificial grass installation at the Paddocks
  • Picket fence painting and general tidying
  • Flagpole erection
  • Scorebox cleaning and painting
  • Bramble clearance behind the pavilion at the Paddocks
  • Jet washing slabs at the Leaping Bar

There will be jobs suitable for all abilities, so please don’t worry if you’re not particularly “DIY minded”.

Days like this play an important role in keeping the club looking its best and ensuring the facilities are ready for players and visitors alike.

We’d love to see as many members as possible lending a hand and helping us get the club match-ready for the 2026 season.
