The Storm travelled to Tickhill on Sunday to play in the first 3 team tournament of the season.
Playing their first match, Maxine won toss and chose to bat with all pairs playing well to post a good score of 285. After loss of early wickets the team batted sensibly and all players contributed positively. In reply regular wickets kept Blyth behind the rate, a late rally by the Blyth last batting pair raised hope but loss of wickets secured a win.
We look forward to travelling to Blyth on 18th August for another afternoon of competition.
Most Valuable Player - Edie Walker
Tickhill proved too strong for Clumber Storm in the second game, once again the Storm lost early wickets but came back really strong with the last two pairs helping set a target of 288. Tickhill started well with quick running and stretched the Storm fielding. After a great start by Tickhill a recovery saw the Storm level at the 10 over stage. The Tickhill Ladies batted sensibly through the final overs and blocked out the last 5 balls to run out winners with 292 runs. These teams are well matched and fiercely competitive and look forward to a return fixture at Clumber Park on September 8th.
Most Valuable Player - Lisa Sankey
