Storm pick up wins against Bingham and Gedling

“Storm Rages at Gedling”

The Storm travelled to Gedling on Monday evening to play in the Women & Girls Softball Cricket Summer League. Al the pre-match chat was about the heroics the day before at Lords, cricket extends beyond Friday night practice and Monday night games, the team love their cricket.
Unfortunately Coddington and Winthorpe were unable to field a team so the evening consisted of a league match against Bingham and a friendly with Gedling.
Bingham played Gedling in the evening first game with the hosts winning a close game, both the teams showing big improvement during the season.
The Storm played Bingham in their first match and ran out winners 253 v 237. Disciplined bowling and fielding seeing us home with late wickets. Louise and Lynn reached double figures when batting, Katie and Lucy bowling well.
In our second game against Gedling the Storm put in a strong performance, Gedling batted first and scored 232-4 with Maxine picking up 3 wickets in an over, Katie once again picking up a wicket. In reply the Storm delivered their best all round performance with 284 losing no wickets. Lynn, Louise & Iris all in double figures.
All of the teams are improving with great commitment in the field and game awareness when batting.
