“Women & Girls start Summer Program”
The Clumber Storm, women and girls cricket team hope to take their indoor success outdoors as they start their first competitive match against strong County Opposition, at Clumber Park on Sunday 5th May.
The Storm will be close to full strength and hope to compete well against their more experienced opposition. The Yorkshire disability team will feature three players from the Worksop area and are keen to get their pre-season preparations under way for the National S9 championships in 2019.
The match will be played using a softer ball than the more traditional version of the sport, this makes the game more accessible to players, low cost and can be played on any surface. It really is designed to increase participation and be fun.
The Clumber Storm are a diverse team with members from the club junior section, mums, aunts, daughters and grand mothers. Most are new to cricket and are learning how to execute the skills, they are fiercely competitive and will be trying to beat their guests. I encourage you to come to Clumber Park and watch the game.
If you are interested in any form of cricket, we have it at Clumber Park, catering from 4 years with KWIK, U11, U13, U15 & U17 in our junior section, women and girls softball cricket teams, U19 T20 Blast and of course 4 senior teams playing red ball cricket.
